Ancre Hill Vineyard Pet Nat NV

Sweet and sour – red fruit jam and bitter cherry, with tickling fizz

Nicely crazy lightly sparkling red, with a sour cherry and red fruit jam nose, that plays out on the palate too, with a slightly herbal back-note. It reminds us of a light Lambrusco Rosso. A real sweet & sour character to it, with great freshness. The new vintage’s juice was blended with previous vintage base wine whilst still fermenting. Primary fermentation finishes in bottle producing a lightly fizzy wine of between 2 and 3 bar pressure. Ancre Hill Estates is located in the Welsh county of Monmouthshire. The 12 hectares of vineyards are perfectly positioned on south facing slopes close to the border town of Monmouth and the Wye Valley. The estate utilises traditional Biodynamic and Organic Viticultural practices to produce the best possible fruits from carefully sourced and selected varieties with excellent heritage. The wines produced at Ancre Hill express the terroir of ancient mudstone and sandstone soils, giving the wines their character and natural flavours, with no external intervention or manipulation in the winemaking process.
