Woodchester Valley Brut Reserve Cuvée NV

Buttery biscuits, honeysuckle, citrus fruit, smoke, rhubarb and orange zest – complex!

A glorious sparkling wine with a classical composition of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Extremely elegant and fine. Aging on lees for over two years has given a profound depth and intensity, yet it’s also deliciously appealing and very, very sippable. The nose is alive with buttery biscuits, honeysuckle and citrus fruit while the palate is gloriously rich and pure with toasty croissant, honey and nuts. As it unfolds in the mouth, hints of smoke, rhubarb and orange zest emerge along with delightfully complex notes of fig and toffee apple. Creamy textured and absolutely seamless with a zesty freshness leading to a long, mouthwatering finish. Woodchester Valley is a family owned boutique vineyard and winery in the South Cotswolds. They have three vineyard sites in the Stroud valleys which produce a range of still white, rosé and sparkling wines. They are located in Amberley, Woodchester and Doverow Hill (Stonehouse), with a total of 45 acres under vine. Woodchester Valley was established in 2007 when a single acre was planted on their Amberley site to assess the suitability of the land for growing vines. The three sites have different soil profiles although are all predominantly limestone. The Woodchester and Amberley sites are typical of Cotswold brash – shallow soils with a high stone content overlying Oolitic limestone, particularly favourable for their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines.
