A wonderful, distinctive and unusual wine, from the outstanding 2022 vintage. With a deep amber hue, this wine offers notes of citrus and orange, with subtle lychee and cinnamon. The tannins are soft, and the wine offers a long, full finish. Hand harvested Siegerrebe grapes were fermented on their skins before undergoing light barrel ageing to add complexity. The wine has been maturing in Three Choir’s cellars, and was released in March 2025. Only 930 bottles were made.
The Three Choirs Vineyard is south facing on sandy loam soil with a GDC trellis system with 800 vines per acre or 2000 per hectare. Most vines are 10-20 years old, all grapes are hand-picked. The wine required minimum intervention in the winery.
