Three Choirs Vineyards

Three Choirs is one of England’s oldest vineyards. In 1973, they planted their first vines when local wine retailer Alan McKechnie started harvesting the vines on his small fruit farm. This expanded to 75 acres by the 1980s. In 2014 Three Choirs became the proud owners of Wickham Vineyard in Hampshire, which has become a popular wedding location, with happy couples choosing to tie the knot nestled amongst the vines and gentle rolling hills of Wickham.

2021 vintage report

Harvest has been late. Our last pressing of grapes happened on 9th November!

A better year than 2020, although the later varieties struggled to reach good sugar levels. The acids seemed to drop before the sugars went up, which then caused slight issues with disease, especially botrytis.

Early varieties like Siegerrebe and Solaris and Madeleine Angevine all performed well. The later varieties such as Seyval Blanc and Pinot and Chardonnay are well suited to Sparkling bases.
