Orange wine – a white wine, but made in the style of a red: the liquid remains in contact with the grape skins through the fermentation process. Hues of apricot in the glass, the nose is fresh and carries the stone fruit theme through to the palate, which is generously complex, with textural layers of peach and tangerine. The wine was on skins for three months before being pressed.
The vineyards of Denbies Estate are situated on the North Downs, in the town of Dorking, with its famous chalky soil, in a protected valley of south-facing slopes (AONB). Commencing in 1986, a total of 265 acres have been planted to vine, making Denbies England’s largest single-estate vineyard.
