This Rosé release comes from what the Harrow & Hope team consider a truly great year for Pinot Noir. This is reflected in the blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. 30% has been fermented in seasoned oak barriques that help to develop flavour and complexity. It is an intensely aromatic and expressive style of Rosé with a vibrant salmon/pink colour that gives you the first hint of what is to come. With 30 months ageing on yeast lees, this wine has the structure to go on for many years to come. Harrow & Hope’s single-vineyard sits on an ancient Thames gravel terrace. Being quite central and away from the coast the vineyard experiences high summer day temperatures with cooler nights that preserve precious acidity.
www.jancisrobinson.com review: Shimmery salmon pink. Roses and nectarines with a deeper citrus note that starts mandarin and ends Seville orange marmalade. Distinctive, with a feather of spice and lengthening acidity. Minerality deep in the spine of the wine makes for an exciting finish. Lots here and will develop for a couple of years. 16.5+/20 (Tamlyn Currin)
