Digby Vintage Reserve Brut 2014

£47.99

Dominated by Chardonnay, this fizz epitomises Digby’s ‘sophisticated yet racy’ motto, with significant ageing (on lees and in the bottle) for balance and complexity.

The new vintage of Digby’s flagship wine comes from grapes hand-harvested from vineyards in Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex and Kent in 2014, a highly celebrated vintage for English sparkling. Like its award-winning predecessors, this English sparkling wine is led by Chardonnay grown on greensand for purity, structure and raciness. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier planted in clay soils give texture, smokiness and va-va-voom. 12% of the wine was matured in old French oak for texture, and the wine was aged for an impressive eight years on lees. Elegant, rounded and astonishingly fresh, this is a gently matured vintage wine of outstanding quality.

Digby Fine English is founded on the firm belief that England can produce world class sparkling wines – wines that stand up to the great and the good of global fizz. Named after Sir Kenelm Digby, who helped design the modern wine bottle, Digby has established itself as one of the country’s leading blending house, working with carefully selected vineyard partners across the South of England.
