The vineyards of Denbies Estate are situated on the North Downs, in the town of Dorking, with its famous chalky soil, in a protected valley of south facing slopes (AONB). A total of 265 acres out of the 700 acre estate have been planted to vine, commencing in 1986. Crafted from grapes grown in one of the estate’s premium blocks, Denbies only make a straight Pinot Noir in the very best of years. This elegant edition came on the back of the long, hot summer of 2018. The nose and palate are interwoven with layers of Florence strawberries and Sweetheart cherries. Seventeen months in French oak barriques leads to a gentle, vanilla finish, which pairs brilliantly with ripe soft cheeses and grilled lamb.
Perfect for Thanksgiving dinner.
