Chapel Down’s Kit’s Coty Coeur de Cuvée 2016 is produced from only the very best blocks of Chardonnay within the Kit’s Coty estate. On the nose one finds apple, peach, melon and hints of butter and toasted nuts, while the palate has incredible purity and finesse, coming from a combination of the chalk soils and the specific pressing technique which carries the well-integrated oak and fruit characters perfectly. It displays a crisp and lengthy finish. In terms of winemaking, the hand-picked fruit was whole bunch pressed and the Coeur de Cuvée 2016 is made from the ‘heart of the first pressing’, the finest quality portion of juice extracted exclusively from the first press cycle. It then spent 7 months on lees in French oak.
Chapel Down is England’s largest wine producer. Based in the heart of the Garden of England, Chapel Down’s finest vineyards are primarily situated on the North Downs of Kent with a terroir very similar to that of Champagne. The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Bacchus vines are grown on south facing chalk soils and benefit from a warm, maritime climate. Chapel Down also source high quality fruit from long-term partner vineyards across Kent, Sussex and Essex, resulting in balanced wines with unique flavour profiles.
