Denbies Wine Estate Orange Solaris 2022
Stone fruits on the nose and palate, with layers of baked apples and tangerine
Orange wine – a white wine, but made in the style of a red. Hues of apricot in the glass, the nose is fresh and carries the stone fruit theme through to the palate, which is generously complex, with layers of baked apple and tangerine. Very versatile with food – it can stand up to red meat, spicy dishes, and less sweet desserts. The wine was on skins for seven months before being pressed.
The vineyards of Denbies Estate are situated on the North Downs, in the town of Dorking, with its famous chalky soil, in a protected valley of south-facing slopes (AONB). A total of 265 acres out of the 700-acre estate have been planted to vine, commencing in 1986.
