|Balfour Hush Heath The Red Miller 2018 – 20% off – down to £31.99|
The red wine that won England’s first ever International Wine Challenge Gold. It also got voted best wine of the evening at one of our recent Award Winning English Wines tastings, so normal people love it too, not just wine competition judges.
Made exclusively from beautifully ripe Pinot Meunier, usually the ‘quiet partner’ in classic sparkling blends, this distinctive wine is certainly a first for England. The wine has gorgeous smokey mulberry, blackberry, raspberry, redcurrant and spice flavours, with soft and balanced tannins.
Only 5,000 bottles were filled with this lovely liquid.

Bluebell Vineyard Hindleap Barrel Aged Blanc de Blancs 2013 – 20% off – down to £28.76
Subtly spicy vanilla, baked plum, pineapple and almond biscotti on the long, strong finish.Established in 2005, Hindleap’s sparkling wines are terroir-driven, bottle-fermented, vintage sparkling wines from Bluebell Vineyard Estates, situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. In 2013, cold winter and cool spring led to a slow start to the growing season, but early summer was warm and dry, creating excellent conditions for flowering. The clement weather continued throughout summer and good conditions for ripening meant flavour development was good and acidity was near perfect for sparkling wine production.

You can make dessert wines a number of ways, and this luscious wine is created in one of the simplest – by stopping the fermentation of really ripe grapes when there is still sugar left in the juice. This method may not deliver the complexing (that’s a real verb, honest) nuances that Noble Rot does, but on the other hand, it showcases the varietal characteristics, with tropical fruits to the fore – mango, melon and peach in a beautiful melange.
The Three Choirs Vineyard is south facing on sandy loam soil. Most vines are 10-20 years old, all grapes are hand-picked.
