New Hall Wine Estate Barons Lane Red 2022
Cherry and violet aromas with summer berries prevailing on the palate
A blend of Rondo, Regent and Acolon grapes, the 2022 Barons Lane Red is full of black cherry and bramble fruit with a hint of red cherry and almond, New Hall’s Barons Lane Red displays juicy dark fruits, tomato leaf and a smokey peppery character leading to a firm, well structured finish.
New Hall was one of the pioneers that re-started the English wine industry in the second half of the twentieth century. In 1969 the first vines were planted at New Hall Farm by Bill and Sheila Greenwood: 850 Reichensteiner vines were purchased at auction at the cost of 23p each. New Hall continued to expand and innovate over the next 50 years, and, with significant recent investment in the vineyards and winery, are in the form of their lives.
