Chilford Hall Chalk Ridge 2018
Hints of lemon and grapefruit before bursting open on the palate with citrus and a hint of peach
Blended to express the best of the Müller-Thurgau and Reichensteiner grapes, this pale golden-green wine has aromas of fresh citrus. On the palate, lemon and grapefruit progress to a long finish with a hint of peach.
Initially planted in 1972, Chilford Hall occupies 20 acres of free draining “flinty” soil which overlays chalk. Since its first planting, the vineyard grew in size to cover more than 20 acres, comprised of 9 different vine varieties each chosen to perfectly match the climate and soil conditions of the estate. Sadly, the vineyard is not currently producing wine but we are fortunate to have some stocks from before production ceased.
