Gusbourne Blanc de Noirs 2020
Dried candied fruits & violets on the nose; raspberry, blueberry, red apple palate
Displaying great finesse in the glass, this Blanc de Noirs is expressive on the nose with fine-tuned notes of dried candied fruits and violet flower. There is a real intensity and weight on the palate, yet the balance is such that it remains delicate and neat on the refreshing and long, persistent finish. Expect ripe flavours of red apple, raspberry and blueberry, reflecting that this wine includes fruit from some of Gusbourne’s finest parcels of Pinot Noir. The wine undergoes extended lees ageing of a minimum of 35 months to enhance complexity and depth.
Gusbourne has 60 hectares at Gusbourne Estate in Kent and 30 hectares in West Sussex that are planted with the 3 classic varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The distinct terroir and exceptionally mild microclimates of the surroundings add their own depth and complexity to the wines, and Gusbourne aims to allow the combination of site, soil and hard work in the vines to reflect in every bottle.
