Lyme Bay Bacchus 2023
Fresh notes of lychee & apple, and distinct English hedgerow character.
A classic expression of bacchus with fresh notes of lychee & apple, and distinct English hedgerow character. The 2023 Bacchus blend included fruit from Devon and Essex, highlighting the best of East and West. The fruit was hand harvested between the 27th of September and the 4th of October 2023. Each parcel of fruit was fermented in individual lots at temperatures ranging from 12°C to 17°C, with specially selected yeast strains to help enhance our house style of Bacchus. After racking, the wines were selected and blended, then left to rest on fine leaves for several months before final filtration and bottling.
Lyme Bay entered into the world of English wine in 2009, planting 26,000 vines within a short distance of their winery in Devon. They also, as with this wine, source grapes from a select group of the best growers in the South of England.
