Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2020
Vibrant citrus and green apple character, with notes of toasted nuts and croissant
Pale gold in colour with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose brims with bright citrus notes along with green apple. On the palate, the wine is focused and elegant, driven by more citrus and a hint of grated ginger. The fruit sits alongside a richer, pâtisserie character of toasted nuts and croissant. The mouthfeel is linear and fresh, leading to a zesty mineral note on the long finish.
Gusbourne has 60 hectares at Gusbourne Estate in Kent and 30 hectares in West Sussex that are planted with the 3 classic varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The distinct terroir and exceptionally mild microclimates of the surroundings add their own depth and complexity to the wines, and Gusbourne aims to allow the combination of site, soil and hard work in the vines to reflect in every bottle.
