Knightor Winery Mena Hweg 2023
Floral aromas of jasmine and stone fruit, with flavours of peach and elderflower.
Mena Hweg can be translated as ‘pretty hill’ in Cornish. Knightor can only make this semi sweet wine in years when the grapes achieve the right balance between sweetness and acidity. It is fermented in stainless steel and the sweetness is achieved by chilling the wine to stop the ferment, resulting in residual sugar and lower alcohol. This semi sweet wine displays both floral aromas of jasmine, plus stone fruit. The palate is light and fruity, with flavours of peach and elderflower. A very food friendly wine inspired by the great wines of Germany.
Knightor make premium quality, limited production English wines from grapes grown in English vineyards and their own vines at Portscatho and Seaton on the south Cornish coast.
