English Sparkling Wines
Lark & Folly Kent Sparkling Schonburger 2010
A one of a kind wine. Floral and spice aromas, with elegant autolysis and brioche notes.
Forgotten parcels of traditional method English sparkling wine, rescued from obscurity, discovered, disgorged, dosaged then labelled and released under the Lark & Folly name. Tiny quantities, rare gems, obscure varieties…when they’re gone they’re gone.
A new project by Tim Wildman MW
This traditional method Schönburger is a truly unique wine. For the past few years, Tim Wildman MW has been discovering and buying up forgotten parcels of traditional method English sparkling wine. We’re very excited to bring you one of these ‘forgotten’ wines, a 2010 traditional method Schönburger. Tim discovered these bottles stored in the shuttered, cobwebbed ballroom of a stately home. Only 150 of these bottles exist and Tim himself doesn’t know all the details of their history. We know, however, that they were vinified at Bolney and that the vineyard was torn up in 2022.
Now mature, this one of a kind wine pours a light gold. It offers floral and spice aromas, with elegant autolysis and brioche notes. A clean, rich and a remarkable example of this rare variety.
