Radlow Hundred Rondo 2023
Vanilla, dark cherries and a damson nose, currants and a hint of pepper
A perennial favourite with our customers, the third vintage of this wine is somewhere between the previous two in terms of body – lighter than the 2022 but more full bodied than the 2021.
With delicate hints of vanilla, dark cherries and a damson nose, this ruby red soft Rondo is a medium-bodied red. Notes of dark currants and a hint of pepper lifts the cherry flavour, a gentle oaked edge and light tannins bring this single variety wine to a playfully pleasing finish.
The rich, almost midnight blue grapes, line Radlow’s village vineyard. Absorbing the changing seasons of Bishops Frome, the vines bear the high yields of the velvet ripened grapes. Resistant to the English chills, the warm English summers fill the softly sweet fruit.
Radlow Hundred have been farming for eight generations. Their estate falls within the beautiful rolling landscape previously known as the Radlow Hundred, an administrative area noted in the Doomsday Book. Their small batch English Wine is a commemorative nod to the farmscape’s history and surrounding community.
