Three Choirs Vineyards Barrel Aged English Brandy

A complex, rich and fruity barrel aged brandy made from English wine

A rich, complex yet fruity style, this brandy is based on wine from 2013 vintage and has been in oak barrel for 8 years. The wine was made with low SO2 and distilled in 2015 in a small wood fired still just down the road from Three Choirs Vineyard. The still is owned by Charles Martell (also known for producing Stinking Bishop!) After distillation, the brandy is transferred to oak barrel where it is left to age. The barrels are topped up occasionally to keep them full (the angels share), and the brandy went through a 1 micron filter to ensure clarity before bottling. This batch of Brandy won a silver medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition. The Three Choirs Vineyard is south facing on sandy loam soil with a GDC trellis system with 800 vines per acre or 2000 per hectare. Most vines are 10-20 years old, all grapes are hand-picked.
