English Sparkling Wines
Nyetimber Cuvée Cherie Demi-Sec MV
Aromas of lemon and a hint of tangerine & honey; lively, sweet lemon start offset by a crisp acidity
England’s first Demi-sec sparkling wine, the Cuvée Cherie has light golden hues and a slight silver undertone illuminating this delicately effervescent wine. Aromas of pure lemon, mineral and honey tones and a hint of tangerine fill the nose. The palate has a lively, sweet lemon start offset by crisp acidity and a very clean, pure structure. Elegant, delicate and fresh, it works particularly well with richer foods.
England’s first traditional method sparkling wine producer, Nyetimber were instrumental in starting the English sparkling wine revolution and today are amongst the most celebrated, and best known, of English wine producers. Based in West Sussex (the Nyetimber estate was mentioned in the Doomsday book) Nyetimber’s perfect greensand and chalk soils allow its vines, in each of its nine separate sites, to flourish across the three counties of Sussex, Hampshire and Kent. The gently south-facing slopes that the vines call home allow for the best possible exposure to the English sunshine, ensuring the grapes achieve the optimum level of ripeness before harvest. Nyetimber only produces sparkling wines, which range from their celebrated multi-vintage cuvée to their illustrious 1086 cuvées, which are amongst the most rarefied and lauded English wines.
