Laneberg Wine’s Bacchus is a dry, still white wine that is bursting with herbaceous aromas and citrus and green apple flavours. The fruit is beautifully precise and the wine as a whole displays a lovely zesty length.
Laneberg Wine is a winery based in Newcastle that creates amazing wines from grapes grown in the South and Midlands of England. The Bacchus for this wine is from Somborne Valley vineyards in Hampshire and it was harvested on the 22 September 2020. The grapes were crushed and destemmed, then pressed in hydraulic basket press. Macerating enzyme was added during pressing to maximise skin characteristics before fermentation at 16°C with Lallemand MSB yeast.
Laneberg Wine was founded by Newcastle-born Elise Lane, who studied biochemistry at Oxford University and winemaking at Plumpton College (with a stint as an accountant inbetween!).
