Flint Vineyard Rosé 2017

11.00% ABV
Lively nose of confected strawberries and watermelon, with red fruits and delicate herrbaceous character

Based in the sunny and sheltered Waveney Valley in South Norfolk, overlooking the villages of Earsham and Bungay, Flint Vineyard’s winemaker Ben Witchell crafts wines using a blend of innovation and a respect for tradition. The vineyard site was selected as one of the driest and sunniest regions in England and the south-east facing vines are planted on free-draining gravel and flint soil. This rosé is a blend of two very distinct early ripening grape varieties: Cabernet Cortis and Rondo. Cabernet Cortis is related to Cabernet Sauvignon but ripens very early and produces complex wines that can be both fruit-driven and herbaceous. Rondo is a deep red-skinned variety that lends complexity and texture. The nose is alive with confected strawberries and watermelon and the palate is bright and full of red fruits with a delicate herbaceous character. This wine has a textured and linear finish, with a hint a residual sugar to balance the lively acidity, which matches the vibrant colour. This is a bold rosé!
