£16.49

12.00% ABV
Elderflower, honeysuckle and tropical fruit entwined on the nose, with spicy typicality on the palate

The vineyards of Denbies Estate are situated on the North Downs, in the town of Dorking, with its famous chalky soil, in a protected valley of south-facing slopes (AONB). A total of 265 acres out of the 700-acre estate have been planted to vine, commencing in 1986. The Bacchus is a pale straw in colour with green hues, this wine displays fresh tropical fruit characters on the nose resplendent in elderflower and honeysuckle. The palate exhibits a spiciness typical of the variety and has a crisp, dry finish. This wine is made from hand-picked Bacchus grapes selected from the best areas on the vineyard. With harvesting taking place in October, this ensures that the vineyard can fully benefit from the early autumn sun. Gentle whole berry pressing was followed by a cool ferment to fully enhance the elderflower flavours typical of the Bacchus grapes.
