12.00% ABV
Dried cranberry, fresh brioche and a long, balanced creamy finish

Court Garden is a family-run, single-estate vineyard and winery in East Sussex, set on a beautiful south-facing slope with the South Downs as a backdrop. The vineyard was established in the spring of 2005 and now extends to 17 acres, mainly planted with the three traditional Champagne varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. In 2008 the still varieties Pinot Gris, Ortega, Dornfelder and Rondo were added. Sussex shares similar geology to north-east France, the chalk of the downs runs beneath the Channel into the Champagne region. In Sussex, there is a more maritime climate which is perfect for the production of sparkling wine. The Sparkling Rosé has a very pale peach hue and vigorous froth. Aromas of dried cranberry and toast and nicely defined red fruit flavours, lively acidity balancing creamy mousse and good weight, nicely balanced, savoury finish with a lovely brioche character. tasting note: “Medium pink. Intense, salty and unexpectedly full bodied. Tastes as if there is quite a bit of dosage here, but it’s well balanced and there is flesh and substance. Plenty of ripe strawberries and grapefruit and a rather deliciously unusual guava tropicality. You can really dig deep into this, and it would be a wonderful pink fizz for pork belly or smoked duck with tangy sour-cherry or redcurrant sauces. You could also have it with a simple fruit sorbet or fruit salad. Lovely, flexible wine with plenty of substance that deserves a place at the table. 16.5/20” (Tamyln Currin)
