Court Garden Ditchling Quartet 2014

A delicious blend, mainly of Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Precoce and Pinot Meunier with a small amount Chardonnay, from the wonderful 2014 vintage. 60% of the wine spent six months in French oak barrel, to add richness and softness to the mouthfeel. Expressive and showing toasty maturity, with aromas of broken croissant and raspberry soufflé. It has a straw hue, delicate well-structured mousse, good balance between acidity and dosage, rich flavoured mid-palate, clean and round finish. Court Garden is a family-run, single-estate vineyard and winery in East Sussex, set on a beautiful south-facing slope with the South Downs as a backdrop. The vineyard was established in the spring of 2005 and now extends to 17 acres, mainly planted with the three traditional Champagne varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. In 2008 the still varieties Pinot Gris, Ortega, Dornfelder and Rondo were added.
