This refreshing blend of pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot meunier and pinot precoce come together to produce a magnificent display of red summer fruit aromas beautifully balanced on a subtle backdrop of vanilla. The Liddell family have farmed at Cottonworth, in the Test Valley, for five generations. They planted their first vines in 2005, and the vineyard has grown ever since, along with Cottonworth’s reputation as a top-drawer sparkling wine producer. The vines are planted at 40-70 metres above sea level on south and southeast-facing slopes of varying degrees of chalkiness: Chardonnay on the soils with the highest chalk content, Pinot Meunier on those with the lowest, and Pinot Noir on intermediate soils.
