A real winemakers’ wine, using grapes from the marvellous 2018 vintage and carefully selected new oak, to create a wine which showcases the huge potential for English Chardonnay. It has a fresh palate with hints of grapefruit, green apple and cinnamon. Skilful use of oak has produced a wine of great intensity, complexity and purity. The finish is long, with lime and salty notes. The Chardonnay vines are planted in Wealden clay over Tunbridge Wells sand in Kent. Once pressed, the juice underwent cool fermentation in stainless steel. A proportion of the wine was aged in French and American Oak barrels for 5 months. This wine is best enjoyed over the next 3-5 years but will age elegantly beyond that.
